Concordance Engine
One Engine. Multiple Stations. A crew that has to think as one machine without ever becoming one player.
Development artwork: visual designs shown on this page represent the current direction of products still in active development and playtesting.
The premise
Concordance Engine is built around shared responsibility. Each player operates a different Station aboard a colossal Engine. The crew shares the machine’s resources and consequences, so every decision changes what the rest of the table can do.
Concordance Engine 5E
The first commercial product is being developed for 3–5 players as a boxed tactical system that can plug into a 5E campaign. Players keep their characters and choose Stations freely. Their characters’ abilities still matter, but the Engine introduces a new tactical layer built around Station Actions, Reactions, Maneuvers, shared Power, damage, range, and encounter objectives.
Standalone board game
Farad Gameworks is also developing a standalone cooperative tactical board game based on the same core idea. It is its own game rather than a roleplaying conversion, with selectable pilots, dedicated Station play, a structured campaign, persistent consequences, and multiple endings.
The original Concordance Engine
Where the Engine Began
Concordance Engine began as a bespoke seven-player system built for the Atheta campaign. That first machine became the proving ground for the shared-Station idea that now drives the commercial Concordance Engine product line.

Basic Rules — Version 1.0. The seven-player Atheta incarnation is preserved here as the origin of the system, not as the current commercial player-count specification. Click the artwork to view it larger.

More than fighting
Concordance Engine encounters can revolve around protection, escape, rescue, survival, environmental hazards, pursuit, capture, or destroying a specific target. The goal is to make operating the Engine the encounter—not merely give the party a larger weapon.
